About

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog.

A little about me: I am a husband, father, and pastor (of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod) serving St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Warrens, Wisconsin. I previously served a congregation in South Dakota for seven years. I am a native of Southern Illinois.

My bride, Heidi, and I have five children and as a family we enjoy living in and exploring scenic western Wisconsin.

I am a former member & chairman of Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat (SCR) in Wickenburg, Arizona. (SCR provides week-long therapeutic retreats for professional church workers and their spouses.) The background sunset photo on my original post was taken at SCR.

The title of this blog is drawn from an expression that the Apostle Peter uses in Acts chapter 3:20, the only reference to “times of refreshing” in Scripture.

Through this blog, I hope to provide a mix of both refreshing & encouraging yet also challenging & thought-provoking reflections, which are consistently Christ-centered.

Thanks for reading!

Christ’s peace,

Kory Janneke
